Big Brother Big Sister: Big Brothers Big Sisters’ one-to-one mentoring program empowers youth to thrive! We help children succeed in school, make positive choices, and improve their self-confidence by providing them with mentors who leave a big impact. Our program is designed to help children and teens achieve their full potential. We believe that by providing a caring and supportive mentor, we can make a difference in the lives of children and our community.
Fairy Godmother Project: The Fairy Godmother Project (FGP) in Fredericksburg, VA, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting families facing pediatric cancer. Unlike many other organizations, FGP focuses on alleviating parents’ day-to-day stresses by providing emotional and financial support. This allows caregivers to better support their families during these challenging times.
Empowerhouse: Empowerhouse is a nonprofit organization in Fredericksburg, VA, dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic violence and their children. They provide a range of services aimed at helping individuals escape abusive situations and rebuild their lives with dignity and safety.
Downtown Greens: Downtown Greens is a nonprofit organization in Fredericksburg, VA, that provides a community greenspace open to the public from sunrise to sunset, 365 days a year. It offers 58.7 acres of publicly accessible gardens and park-like areas, including the Downtown and Belman Road campuses.
Stafford Junction: Stafford Junction is a faith-based nonprofit organization in Stafford, VA, dedicated to improving the lives of children, youth, and families facing poverty. Their mission is to provide meaningful support through education, empowerment, and healthy living.
Step VA: STEP VA (System Transformation Excellence and Performance) is an initiative by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) aimed at transforming the state’s public mental health system. The goal is to improve access, quality, consistency, and accountability in behavioral health services across Virginia
